Only a few days remain to submit photos for the Wake Forest Historic Preservation Commission’s 2013 fundraising calendar. Both amateur and professional photographers are urged to submit their photos via email to Communications Specialist Bess Martinson at bmartinson@wakeforestnc.gov no later than 5 p.m., Friday, Sept. 21.
Proceeds from the calendar will be used to renovate and maintain the Ailey Young House – an HPC project.
The calendar’s theme combines historic buildings throughout the community with the trees that made the area known as the “Forest of Wake.” Narrative on each page of the calendar will identify both the building and the tree(s) in the photos. Specifically, the HPC is requesting photos of historic Wake Forest buildings that include a tree or trees in the image. A variety of photos are being sought so the calendar will reflect the different seasons of the year. Photos will be enlarged to approximately 8” x 10”, so high-resolution is required.
Photographers will not be compensated but will be credited within the calendar.
