Severe Weather

This page provides information on the operations of the Town of Wake Forest and related organizations during severe weather events. Important contact numbers and links to supplemental information are also offered.

Announcements about Town services during severe weather events are made on our Severe Weather Updates page, in Town news releases, on Facebook, and on Wake Forest TV 10.

On special occasions the Town of Wake Forest also utilizes DeltAlert - a high-speed telephone communication service for emergency notifications. This system allows us to telephone all or targeted areas of the Town in case of an emergency situation requires your attention. Residents are able to input an unlisted number, cell phone number, or other secondary phone number into the system for contact during an emergency situation. To enter your number into the system, please visit the DeltAlert web page.

REPAIR OF POWER LINES AT HOMES & BUSINESSES
Contact Wake Forest Power if a line is down between the utility pole and where the line is attached to the house (weatherhead).

The property owner is responsible for line or equipment (mast and/or meter) damage from the point of attachment (weatherhead) to anywhere on the house. Call Inspections & Permits at (919) 435-9531 for the electrical permit and inspection that are required before Wake Forest Power restores power.

When an emergency electrical connection is needed after normal business hours, a licensed electrician may make the connection before obtaining the required permit and inspection. Inspections & Permits should be contacted at the beginning of the next business day.
