The Wake Forest Police Department is inviting area amateur golfers to participate in the 17th annual Tournament for the Kids on Monday, Oct. 1. The event kicks off with a shotgun start at noon at Brevofield Golf Links, 13601 Camp Kanata Road, Wake Forest.

The field is limited to the first 32 paid teams, so interested golfers are encouraged to register early. The entry fee is $240 per foursome or $60 per person and includes lunch, green fees, cart, prizes, and dinner. Individual players may request to be included on a waiting list in the event additional teams are formed.

Tee box and hole sponsorships are available for $100 each and include sign recognition of sponsorship for one hole.

Proceeds from the Tournament for the Kids will benefit children in the Wake Forest community. Money raised during the event in recent years has been used to purchase Christmas gifts for less fortunate children, fund T-ball and softball teams, and sponsor children in local recreational events.
