2024 Downtown Property Owners' Luncheon
On January 25, 2024, the Wake Forest Renaissance Centre was the site of the 2024 Downtown Property Owners' Luncheon.
Hosted by the Wake Forest Downtown, Inc. Board of Directors, the event provided an annual update on new downtown businesses, property development plans, key annual statistics, and Board objectives.
Wake Forest Power Update
During the 2024 Downtown Property Owners' Luncheon, Electric Utility Director Chris Terrell offered an update on Wake Forest Power activities and initiatives – with a particular emphasis on downtown Wake Forest.
Among the topics he addressed in his eight-minute presentation were the power outages that affected downtown in 2023, including the number one cause – animals, the new outage management system coming soon, and the utility’s efforts to convert existing overhead lines to underground.

Effective January 2023 Wake Forest Downtown, Inc. will reimburse downtown business owners up to $100 once each calendar year to offset the cost of Town of Wake Forest permit fees for business signage or architectural review permits for painting and other building improvements. Please note that these funds are available on a first come first served basis. To be eligible for reimbursement please contact Jennifer Herbert, Downtown Development Director after permit has been paid for and approved.
