If you're a Wake Forest Power customer, install a new energy-efficient heat pump, contact Nicole Press at 919-435-9468 to sign up for Load Management and apply for the energy rebate credit. Once completed, the Town of Wake Forest will credit your utility bill up to $300*.
But that's not all! As a participant in our Load Management program, you can continue to enjoy significant savings year-round! In the summer your air-conditioning load management control will allow you to earn as much as $20/month from June - September. And by enrolling in our heat strip/heat pump load management control program, you will save $10/month from December - March!

Install a new energy-efficient electric water heater, contact Nicole Press at 919-435-9468 to sign up for Load Management and apply for the energy rebate credit. Once completed, the Town of Wake Forest will credit your utility bill $150*.
*The load management control must be installed for one year or you will be billed for the full amount of the rebate.
Load Management
Load management is a way to control the amount of electricity being used in your home at any one time. When periods of peak demand occur, load management is used to reduce the demand and lower the cost.
Customers who participate in any of our load management programs, allow the Town of Wake Forest to install a load management switch on their electric water heater, electric heat strips, or central air conditioner. During periods of heavy demand for power, radio signals to the load management switch cycle the controlled units off. The more switches the Town has in place, the greater the impact of the load management program. Most customers don't even notice when load managing occurs!
Load management customers receive:
$2 monthly credit for electric water heaters
$5 monthly credit for air conditioners - 50% control (June - September)
$20 monthly credit for air conditioners - 100% control (June - September)
$10 monthly credit for heat pump/heat strip control (December - March)
