The Town of Wake Forest received federal grant funds from Surface Transportation Program - Direct Attributable funds (STP-DA) administered through the Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (CAMPO) and NCDOT. The project consists of design, environmental documentation, and construction of a ten-foot wide multi-use path on the south side of realigned Durham Road from the new NC 98 Highway/Dr Calvin Jones Hwy to Wake Union Church Rd. The estimated cost is $267,000 with a 20% local match. The Town has procured the design services of Stewart Engineering for this project who will provide shovel ready plans for construction. Summit Design & Engineering is responsible for the construction engineering inspection (CEI), and Triangle Grading & Paving is constructing the multi use path.
