Christopher Williamson earns ISA Certified Arborist Utility Specialist Certification
The Town of Wake Forest is pleased to announce that Tree Trimming Technician II Christopher Williamson has successfully completed the Certified Arborist Utility Specialist examination administered by the local chapter of the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA).
Williamson earned ISA Certified Arborist Utility Specialist accreditation after passing the stringent 115-question ISA exam. Topics covered in the examination include electric utility pruning, program management, integrated vegetation management, electrical knowledge, customer relations, and storm response.
A Town employee since 2018, Williamson is a member of the Urban Tree Trimming Crew where he is responsible for trimming Town street trees, removing stumps and dead trees within the right-of-way, and ensuring tree clearance for various signage.
Williamson’s ISA certification is valid for three years. He will be required to obtain 36 continuing education units (CEUs) during that time to maintain his certification.
Founded in 1924, the ISA is a non-profit organization which supports tree care research around the world. Offering the only internationally recognized certification program in the tree care industry, the organization strives to improve the level of knowledge and standard of practice within the tree care profession. The ISA's Certification Program is designed to promote the professional development of those involved in the field of arboriculture or tree care.
