UPDATE: Wake Forest greenways closed until further notice due to flooding & downed trees
Monday, January 3, 2022 - 10:32am
After being closed yesterday, all Wake Forest greenways have reopened.
The information below was distributed Monday, Jan. 3, at 10:27 a.m.:
Due to significant flooding and downed trees and limbs along many Wake Forest greenways, the Town of Wake Forest is closing all trails until further notice.
Several Wake Forest greenways, including many trail bridges and boardwalks, are impassable due to flooding. As a result, the Wake Forest Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources (PRCR) Department has deemed it in the best interest and safety of users to close the Town’s greenway system until the water subsides.
Area residents are strongly urged to refrain from using the greenways until they are re-opened.
