Gas leak closes portion of Jones Farm Road

The gas leak along Jones Farm Road has been sealed. The road has reopened, and the evacuation has been canceled.

The following information was distributed today at 1:13 p.m.:  

Emergency personnel are on the scene of a ruptured gas line along Jones Farm Road. The gas line was ruptured by construction crews working in the area.

Traffic is blocked along Jones Farm Road from Litchborough Way to Ridgemont Street.

Out of an abundance of caution, approximately 12 homes in the area have been evacuated.

Dominion Energy crews are responding and will seal off the leak, but there is no timetable on when the road will reopen.
