Raleigh Water investigating “mysterious” water leak at Holding Park
Raleigh Water is investigating a “mysterious” water leak at Holding Park, 133 W. Owen Ave.
Late last week, a Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources (PRCR) Department maintenance crew responded to a reported water leak in the vicinity of the Holding Park playground but were unable to locate its source. Subsequent efforts by other Town staff also failed to locate the origin of the leak prompting the PRCR Department to enlist the assistance of Raleigh Water.
Due to significant amounts of standing water and out of concern for the safety of park visitors, Holding Park, including the playground, has been closed until further notice. Signage and barricades have been posted to inform the public of the closure. Residents are urged to obey the signs and avoid the area until the source of the seepage is determined and the leak is repaired.
Although Holding Park is temporarily closed, the Wake Forest Community House, Holding Park basketball courts, and R.H. Forest Field remain open.
