Police training exercise scheduled this week along North Avenue

The Wake Forest Police Department will conduct active shooter training exercises each day this week through Friday along the 100 block of North Avenue. The exercises will begin at 8 a.m. and conclude at 3 p.m.

Training participants may be seen carrying duty rifles which are part of the exercise scenario and no cause for alarm. The exercise will not involve live gunfire or loud flash bangs.

Police officials have notified administrators at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary and Wake Forest High School.
