Portion of Dr. Calvin Jones Highway/NC 98 Bypass to be temporarily closed Thursday afternoon

***UPDATE - Wake Forest Power will close all lanes along Dr. Calvin Jones Highway/NC 98 Bypass between South Franklin Street and Heritage Lake Road today (Thursday, April 10) from approximately 1:30-2 p.m.

A signed detour will be in place directing traffic around the work area, so motorists may wish to avoid the area and use an alternate route.

At approximately 2 p.m., all lanes will reopen except one eastbound lane which will remain closed until around 3 p.m.

Today’s lane closures are necessary to allow crews to install an overhead power line along westbound Dr. Calvin Jones Highway/NC 98 Bypass as part of the initiative to install a traffic signal at the U-turn intersection between South Franklin Street and Heritage Lake Road.
