Traffic Alert - Capital Boulevard/US 1

***UPDATE: All lanes of Capital Boulevard/US 1 have reopened.

The information below was distributed at 7:07 p.m.:

A motorcycle accident has closed all lanes of southbound Capital Boulevard/US 1 from Durham Road/NC 98 to Dr. Calving Jones Highway/NC 98 Bypass. Motorists are urged to avoid the area and choose another route.

Emergency personnel are on the scene. The motorcycle operator has been transported to a local hospital. There is no word on the extent of his injuries.
