Wake Forest Police investigating afternoon shooting

The person responsible for today’s shooting has been taken into custody. Both the male suspect and male victim are under age 18, so no additional information will be released.

The following information was distributed today at 5 p.m.:

Wake Forest Police are investigating an afternoon shooting.

At approximately 4:15 p.m., officers responded to a reported shooting at the corner of North White Street and East Spring Street. Upon arrival, officers located a male suffering from a gunshot wound. The man has been transported to a local hospital for treatment. There is no word on the extent of his injuries.
