Suja Jacob earns Certified Festival & Event Associate Certification
The Wake Forest Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources Department pleased to announce that Special Events Specialist Suja Jacob (photo attached) has successfully earned the Certified Festival & Event Associate (CFEA) credential from the International Festivals & Events Association (IFEA).
Jacob earned CFEA certification after completing an intensive two-year (one week per year) Event Management School in Wheeling, West Virgina. The Event Management School provides more than 64 hours of education and applied project experience covering a thorough overview of festival and event management. Topics covered include event administration, advanced risk management, contingency planning, budget development, volunteer management, and designing accessible events.
A Town employee since 2017, Jacob is a member of the Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources Department where she assists with the facilitation of large events such as the annual Easter Egg Hunt, Independence Day Celebration, and Halloween Boo Bash. She also manages the popular Mother-Son Dance, Daddy-Daughter Dance, Six Sundays in Spring, and Family Movie Nights at Joyner Park.
Founded in 1956 as the Festival Manager's Association, the International Festivals & Events Association (IFEA) is a not-for-profit association for producers, suppliers, and managers of festivals and events, which range from small county and municipal events to large-scale parades that can have attendances in the hundreds of thousands. It has members in about 38 countries on five continents.
