Angela McCray is Town’s new Human Resources Director

Angela McCray is Wake Forest’s new Human Resources (HR) Director. She succeeds Virginia Jones who retired in April after nine years of service to the Town.

A native of Evanston, Illinois, Angela has more than 18 years of experience in human resource management and administration including benefits and workers compensation at the municipal level.

As Wake Forest’s HR Director, she will be responsible for providing oversight and direction for the Town’s recruitment and selection of personnel, training initiatives, employee benefits, and risk management program. She will supervise five full-time staff and oversee an operating budget of $1.1 million.

Before joining the Town, Angela served as a Human Resources/Risk Management Director for multiple municipal agencies across three states providing expert leadership, training, and benefit administration, as well as other aspects of human resources.

In 2002 she graduated from National Louis University with a Master of Business Administration and is currently pursuing a Master of Legal Studies Degree with Pepperdine University.

Angela and her husband, David, have one son, David “AJ,” who resides in Seattle, Washington. All work for local municipalities.
