Police searching for "armed and dangerous" subject wanted in connection with Raleigh carjacking

***1/20/25 6 pm UPDATE - Police officials say they have suspended the search for a carjacking suspect last seen on foot in the area of Durham Road and Tyler Run Drive.

At approximately 3 p.m. a carjacking occurred in Raleigh. A short time later, Wake Forest Police located the suspect and the stolen vehicle in Wake Forest. Following a brief pursuit, the subject abandoned the vehicle in the Tyler Run Subdivision and fled on foot.

For nearly two hours, officers from the Wake Forest Police Department, Wake County Sheriff’s Office, and Raleigh Police Department searched for the individual described as a black male, approximately 25-years-old, wearing a black hoodie.

Officials say the subject may no longer be in the area. Still, residents are urged to remain vigilant, lock their doors, and call 9-1-1 if they see anything suspicious.

Anyone with information about the crime or the whereabouts of the suspect is urged to call 9-1-1. You may remain anonymous.

 

***1/20/25 5:25 pm UPDATE - Officers from several law enforcement agencies are continuing to search for the man wanted in connection with a Raleigh carjacking. The subject was last seen on foot in the area of Durham Road and Tyler Run Drive.

The man is considered armed and dangerous.

Residents are urged to remain vigilant, lock their doors, and call 9-1-1 if they see anything suspicious.

The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 25-years-old, wearing a black hoodie. He is considered armed and dangerous.
