We want to hear from you! PRCR’s second “Play It Forward Wake Forest” community survey available through September 18
In June the Wake Forest Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources (PRCR) Department and the PRCR Advisory Board introduced “Play It Forward Wake Forest” to raise awareness about the PRCR Master Plan Update and encourage community participation in the process.
Most recently updated in 2015, the PRCR Master Plan reflects Wake Forest’s vision of a vibrant community that responds to the needs and desires of residents and visitors for fun, healthy, exciting, and diverse recreational activities.
Citizen input is the cornerstone of the “Play It Forward” initiative, so we want to hear from you. Residents, visitors, and stakeholders are invited to visit https://engagewakeforest.org/parks-recreation-master-plan-update and complete Community Survey #2 to share their thoughts and ideas on ways we can enhance and improve our existing parks. The survey is available through Monday, Sept. 18, and takes less than 10 minutes to complete.
Members of the PRCR Advisory Board will be onsite at E. Carroll Joyner Park, 701 Harris Road, during “Wake Forest Unplugged, Get Connected” this Sunday, Sept. 3, from 5-7 p.m. to answer questions, discuss current and future PRCR initiatives, and encourage attendees to complete the survey.
Wake Forest Unplugged invites area residents to disconnect from their smart phones, computers, and other electronic devices and reconnect with their community, friends, and family by engaging in healthier, more active pursuits. In addition to discussing “Play It Forward,” the PRCR Advisory Board will host a variety of organized games and activities, including sack and relay races, corn hole, and miniature golf, in the vicinity of the Walker Garden.
The electronics-free afternoon will culminate with a free concert from 5:30-7:30 p.m. in the Joyner Park Amphitheater featuring the band “SNAP.”
