Concern for public safety forces Friday removal of damaged pine tree at Joyner Park
Thursday, May 2, 2024 - 3:46pm
On Friday, May 3, at 7 a.m., Monster Tree Service, a contractor working on behalf of the Town of Wake Forest, will close a portion of the E. Carroll Joyner Park greenway between the pond and the Joyner Park Community Center. The closure is necessary to allow a crane to remove a large pine tree damaged during a recent storm.
Signage and barricades will be posted to inform the public of the temporary closure. Crews will also cordon off the affected area with yellow flagging tape. Visitors to Joyner Park are urged to use caution and maintain a safe distance from the work area.
The greenway is expected to reopen Friday afternoon. For more information, email Parks & Recreation Maintenance Manager Randy Hoyle at [email protected].
