CSX track repairs scheduled to close Brick Street & Seawell Drive rail crossings next week
UPDATED - April 13 | 2 pm
CSX officials say Wake Forest’s Brick Street and Seawell Drive railroad crossings will be closed for maintenance during the week of April 17.
The Brick Street crossing is scheduled to close Monday, April 17, at 8:30 a.m. and reopen Wednesday, April 19, while the Seawell Drive crossing is scheduled to be closed Wednesday, April 19, from 8 a.m.-8 p.m.
Crews will replace railroad ties at each crossing, then resurface the road.
No vehicular traffic will be allowed over the rail crossings during the closure periods, so motorists are urged to avoid the affected areas, plan accordingly, and allow for additional travel time.
The NC Department of Transportation (NCDOT) is reminding residents that railroad property is private property. Anyone on railroad property without railroad permission is trespassing. To report a problem or emergency, look for the blue Emergency Notification Sign located at the crossing and call the emergency phone number listed on the sign. If you cannot locate the blue sign, dial 911.
CSX officials say the work schedule is tentative and subject to change. Updates will be provided as they are made available at https://bit.ly/WFRRTrackRepairs.
