2026 Public Power Week
October 4-10

The Town of Wake Forest and Wake Forest Power (WFP) are joining more than 2,000 not-for-profit utilities in celebrating Public Power Week October 4-10.

Wake Forest and WFP will commemorate Public Power Week by offering several special events and activities to celebrate the benefits of public power and salute the folks who keep our lights on.

 

Enter to Win Free Electricity

Wake Forest Power residential customers have TWO ways to win free electricity in October! Each account can enter once per options listed below:

  1. Participate in the Public Power Week Trivia Contest. All the answers to the trivia questions can be found on the Town of Wake Forest website. Every customer that answers all 10 questions correctly will be entered into a drawing for free electricity.
  2. Donate a minimum of three non-perishable items for the Mini Pantry at H.O.P.E. House to our Customer Service counter in the lobby of Town Hall. Please register your donation on the sign-in sheet provided at the donation box.

The deadline for the trivia contest and/or H.O.P.E House donations is 4 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 8.

On Friday, Oct. 9, two winners for the Trivia Contest and one winner for the donations will be announced on the Wake Forest Power Facebook page.

Savings for Seniors Bingo - October 6

Wake Forest-area seniors are invited to enjoy a special morning of free bingo on Tuesday, Oct. 6 from 10-11:30 am. Wake Forest Power will host “Savings for Seniors Bingo” at the Wake Forest Center for Active Aging, 235 E. Holding Ave.

Highlighting a variety of energy-savings ideas, “Savings for Seniors Bingo” will offer participants the chance to have fun and win prizes donated by local merchants.

Customer Appreciation

Public Power Week is also Customer Appreciation Week. As our way of saying “thank you” to our valued customers, Town staff will be serving popcorn and giving away a variety of special prizes in the lobby of Town Hall.

Staff will also be available to share information and answer questions about WFP’s array of customer programs and services.
