Bus Park & Ride lot to relocate to Senior Center July 1
Beginning Friday, July 1, the Wake Forest Bus Service Park and Ride Lot will relocate permanently from the former SunTrust building, 353 S. White St., to a rear portion of the Northern Wake Senior Center parking lot, 235 E. Holding Ave. In the coming days, temporary signage will be installed that identifies the new park and ride lot which will be most easily accessed via Brooks Street.
In addition, a new stop will be added in front of the Senior Center, while the current stop along Elm Avenue will be relocated across the street. For more information on these changes, email Planner II Dylan Bruchhaus at [email protected].
Transit service began in Wake Forest in July 2008 giving residents the opportunity to ride a weekday rush-hour express from Wake Forest to downtown Raleigh and use a local circulator service that provides access to local grocery stores, shopping, and other services. The result of a partnership between the Town of Wake Forest, GoTriangle, GoRaleigh and the City of Raleigh, both the express and the local circulator routes are operated using GoRaleigh vehicles.
The Wake Forest-Raleigh Express (WRX) serves the park and ride lot in downtown Wake Forest, the Triangle Town Center Park-and-Ride at Orvis, and the Moore Square Transit Station in downtown Raleigh during morning and afternoon peak hours. The Wake Forest-Raleigh Express fare is $3 each way for adults.
The Wake Forest Loop (WFL) is a fare-free bus route for residents wanting to travel within Wake Forest and a portion of Wakefield. The bus route also provides a connection to the WRX in Downtown Wake Forest. The bus route has two loops. Loop A runs clockwise, and Loop B runs counterclockwise. The service operates Monday-Saturday, with buses arriving hourly on each Loop.
