The Town of Wake Forest is pleased to announce that Information Technology Analyst II David Moore has successfully graduated from the 2023-24 Certified Government Chief Information Officers Program™ at UNC-Chapel Hill’s School of Government.

Introduced in 2005, the CGCIO™/CeCTO™ program is the nation’s first local government specific program for CIOs. It is designed for local government Chief Information Officers, Information Technology (IT) Directors, and other senior IT leaders within the public sector whose challenging responsibilities require a broad understanding of management, leadership, legal, regulatory, and enterprise topics.

The approximate 240-hour course covers strategic technology planning, effective communication, emerging technology trends, risk assessment and management, acquisition management, change management, leadership, cybersecurity, and legal issues related to technology.

In 2010, Program Director Dr. Shannon Tufts was recognized by Government Technology magazine as one of the Top 25 Doers, Dreamers, and Drivers for the creation and expansion of this nationally acclaimed program aimed at elevating the position of public sector technology leaders who work tirelessly to serve the public good through strategic investments in technology.

David Moore is one of 40 local government, state agency, community college, and K-12 education IT leaders in North Carolina who successfully completed the course this year.

Since its inception in 2005, the CGCIO™/CeCTO™ program has graduated over 2,000 public sector technology leaders across the nation.
