Dunn Creek Culvert Replacement Project starts Monday, portion of East Juniper Avenue to be closed
Beginning Monday, Feb. 17, Fred Smith Co., a contractor working on behalf of the Town of Wake Forest, will begin construction on the Dunn Creek Culvert Replacement Project along the 1200 block of East Juniper Avenue. The work is expected to be completed in the fall.
During construction, the portion of East Juniper Avenue from Meadowgrass Lane to Traditions Grande Boulevard will be closed. The road closure is necessary so crews can make improvements to the roadway. A signed detour will be place directing motorists around the work area.
Funded by the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA), the Dunn Creek Culvert Replacement Project aims to replace aging infrastructure and enhance safety along the East Juniper Avenue crossing of Dunn Creek. The initiative will include:
Removal of the existing pipe culverts.
Installation of approximately 90 linear feet of cast-in-place box culvert.
Construction of a multi-use path.
Roadway improvements, including curb and gutter installation, asphalt resurfacing, and provisions for future road extensions.
