Good Neighbor Day returns to Joyner Park Saturday
Good Neighbor Day returns to E. Carroll Joyner Park, 701 Harris Road, Saturday, Sept. 21, from 1-4 p.m. Presented by the Human Relations Council (HRC), Good Neighbor Day (GND) is an annual event that assembles Wake Forest residents from all walks of life for a day of free food, fun, and family entertainment. By bringing together a mix of cultures, music, ages, and ethnicities, GND celebrates diversity and promotes goodwill among all Wake Forest citizens.
Saturday’s event promises something for everyone, including free hotdogs, kids’ activities, a DJ, and more.
A special part of this year's GND will be the presentation of the "Good Neighbor of the Year" Award. The honor will be presented to a local youth and adult who consistently demonstrate an unfailing commitment to preserving, maintaining, and improving the quality of life in their neighborhood and community. The Good Neighbor of the Year Award presentations will take place on the Joyner Park Amphitheater stage around 2:30 p.m.
The HRC encourages diversity and promotes goodwill among all citizens of Wake Forest. GND serves as a catalyst for carrying out the town’s vision of “building a community populated by diverse groups whose common bond is a love of our town.”
Nearly 5,000 Wake Forest-area residents have participated in GND since its inception in 2006. For more information, visit https://bit.ly/WFGoodNeighborDay.
