Raleigh Water repairing water main along South Main Street/US 1A, detour in place

Raleigh Water crews are repairing a water main along the 700 block of South Main Street/US 1A.

For the safety of work crews, a portion of South Main/US 1A from West Holding Avenue to Vernon Avenue is closed. East Holding from South Main/US 1A to South White Street is also closed.

A signed detour is in place directing motorists around the work area. Delays are expected, so drivers may wish to avoid the area and take an alternate route.

The repair work is expected to be completed by 11 p.m.
