Residents can expect to see core-boring truck along local streets
Wake Forest residents may see a truck equipped with a testing trailer along their street coring holes in the pavement.
As part of the first phase of the Town’s 2024 Street Resurfacing Project, a subcontractor working on behalf of Mott McDonald will conduct pavement testing on various streets throughout Wake Forest. The truck is equipped with sensors that use radar data to determine the thickness of the street pavement and coring equipment to take pavement samples where necessary. In such instances, the subcontractor will fill all core sample holes immediately.
The subcontractor will make every effort to avoid impacting traffic, but occasional disruptions and delays are possible.
In the fall, officials will share additional information about next year’s Street Resurfacing Project, including a list of streets to be resurfaced. For more information, email Assistant Engineering Director Monica Sarna at [email protected].
