Share your input on the future of Taylor Street Park during public meetings in November & December
The Wake Forest Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources (PRCR) Department will host a series of public meetings over the next several weeks to solicit input from residents concerning the future of Taylor Street Park, 416 N. Taylor St.
The first of two meetings to be offered in the Board Chambers, located on the second floor of Town Hall, 301 S. Brooks St., will be offered tonight (Thursday, Nov. 21) at 6 p.m. The second meeting is scheduled on Saturday, Dec. 7, 9 a.m.
Community members may attend these sessions in person or join from their computer or smartphone at https://us06web.zoom.us/j/89542378742.
The third and final public meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 10, at 6 p.m. at the Alston-Massenburg Center, 416 N. Taylor St.
Each session will include a brief presentation, followed by an open discussion where attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and share suggestions. Town staff will be on hand to answer questions and gather public input.
Discussions will focus on PRCR’s efforts to apply for the Accessible Parks (AP) Grant Program. The Accessible Parks Grant Program provides $3.7 million in matching grants for parks and recreation for the construction of special facilities or adaptation of existing facilities that meet the unique needs of persons living with disabilities or that enable them to participate in recreational and sporting activities, regardless of their abilities. This program is administered through the Division and PARTF. The purpose of the Accessible Parks Grant is to maximize access to recreation. Information gathered during the sessions will help identify and develop the future park redesign.
From now through the end of December, community members are invited to provide their input via an online survey. Available at https://engagewakeforest.org/taylor-street-park-improvements, the survey consists of 12 questions and takes less than five minutes to complete
