Residents & business owners invited to complete Noise Ordinance Survey

The Town of Wake Forest is in the process of updating its Noise Ordinance, and we need your input. Wake Forest residents and business owners are invited to visit https://engagewakeforest.org/noise-ordinance-update and complete an online survey on the proposed ordinance. The survey also seeks feedback on “quiet hours” and the Town’s noise permit process. Available through Friday, Aug. 12, the survey takes less than 10 minutes to complete.

Over the past year, staff representing several Town departments have met to discuss past complaints related to noise, review the temporary event waiver for downtown businesses, and study other noise ordinances throughout North Carolina.

As a result of their research and review, the proposed noise ordinance simplifies the permitting process for businesses, eliminates the need for noise permits for residential uses, clarifies definitions, updates noise levels, and increases fines for those that are not in compliance with regulations.
