Northern Wake Senior Center to host Senior Health & Fitness Day Wednesday
In celebration of Older Americans Month and National Senior Health and Fitness Day, the Northern Wake Senior Center (NWSC), 235 E. Holding Ave., is hosting Recess Reimagined/Adult Playground on Wednesday, May 29, from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Free and open to residents of all ages, the occasion will focus on the health and well-being of adults 55 and over.
The event will include mini demonstration and fitness sessions starting at 9 a.m. and art projects throughout the day. From noon to 3 p.m. the Recess Session will feature the 4+ Double Dutch Club leading familiar schoolyard games, such as Simon Says, Red Light, Green Light, Chair Beach Volleyball, 4 Corners, Dance Line Hopscotch and more.

Established in 1963, Older Americans Month is celebrated throughout May. The annual event acknowledges the contributions and achievements of older Americans, highlights important trends, and works to strengthen the national commitment to honoring older citizens.
