Family Movie Nights at Joyner Park continue Saturday with “Kung Fu Panda 4”
The Wake Forest Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources (PRCR) Department is hosting a free, monthly outdoor movie series through August at E. Carroll Joyner Park, 701 Harris Road. Family Movie Nights at Joyner Park feature a variety of family-friendly film favorites and genres, including comedies, dramas, and action, all projected on a 26-foot inflatable movie screen in the park’s amphitheater.
Weather permitting, the series will continue Saturday, July 20, at 8:30 p.m. with “Kung Fu Panda 4.” Showtime is 8:30 p.m. Anyone planning to attend is urged to arrive early as viewing space may be limited. Attendees are encouraged to bring a blanket and/or chairs but are reminded that alcohol, smoking, and unleashed pets are prohibited.
Free and open to the public, Family Movie Nights also feature a movie-related pre-show activity for kids beginning at 7:30 p.m. Pre-show activities on July 20 will include a "meet and greet" with the Kung Fu Panda characters and a craft.
Assorted food vendors will be on site selling snacks and refreshments. The food vendors scheduled to participate on July 20 will be GypZea Maize Kettle Corn, Lumpy's Ice Cream, and Will and Pops.
In the event of rain, Family Movie Night may be canceled. Updates will be posted on the Town website, Nextdoor site, and Facebook page. Smart phone users who have downloaded the Town of Wake Forest app will also receive a push notification message concerning any schedule changes.
