Register now for “Battle in the Forest” Esports gaming tournament November 16

The Wake Forest Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources (PRCR) Department will host an online Esports gaming tournament featuring the game "Super Smash Bros. Ultimate" on Saturday, Nov. 16. Presented by Ting, Battle in the Forest is open to players ages 10 and older and free to play on all consoles and PCs. The online tournament will be live streamed on Twitch.tv.

Registration is open through Wednesday, Nov. 13, at https://wakeforestnc.recdesk.com/Community/Home. Please note: Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is rated e10+.

Participants will compete in a one-on-one, single-day, double-elimination tournament to run in conjunction with "Bull City Gaming.” The matches will be best of three, while the championship match will be best of five.

In the event more than 32 participants register, the tournament will expand to two days with the qualifying rounds taking place on November 16 and the top eight participants battling it out in the finals on Sunday, Nov. 17.

As an added incentive, the first 25 people to register will have their name entered for a chance to win their choice of the new “Mario & Luigi Brothership” game or a physical copy of the new “MARVEL vs. CAPCOM Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics” game for Nintendo Switch. You must participate in the tournament to be eligible for the drawing. An assortment of prizes will be given to our top three participants including an Esports scholarship from Barton College Esports. 

The first-place winner will receive a Nintendo Switch Lite: Hyrule Edition console, while our runner up will receive a HORI Nintendo Switch “Sonic the Hedgehog” edition wireless controller. For more information, visit https://bit.ly/BattleintheForest.
