Tree trimming to cause closures along Wait Avenue November 12-13
Weather permitting, Wake Forest Power will close the following portions of Wait Avenue Tuesday-Wednesday, Nov. 12-13, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. each day:
Tuesday, Nov. 12 – Wait Avenue from Traditions Grande Boulevard to Havisham Court
Wednesday, Nov. 13 – Wait Avenue from Havisham Court to North Allen Road
The temporary road closures are necessary to allow Wake Forest Power tree crews to prune tree limbs and branches around overhead power lines. Access to all driveways along Wait Avenue will be maintained at all times.
Signage and flaggers will be in place to manage traffic flow and safely direct motorists around the work area. Delays are expected, so motorists may wish to avoid the area and use an alternate route.
Wake Forest Power works year-round to minimize storm impacts through preventive maintenance, including the trimming of trees around Wake Forest’s 140 miles of overhead electric distribution lines. Downed trees and limbs are the leading cause of power outages during storms but more importantly endanger the lives of utility workers and the public.
