Youth Athletics

 

Overview

The Wake Forest Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources Department (PRCR) offers athletic programs for boys and girls, ages five and older. The youth athletics participant fee for residents is $60 per player (per season) and $100 per player (per season) for non-residents.

Youth athletic leagues participants will register online during the specified registration periods. New participants must provide a copy of the birth certificate in order to be eligible for team placement (submitted as a part of online registration).

 

Youth Athletics Registration

Youth athletic registration is only accepted during advertised registration periods. All youth athletic participants are required to register online via Team Sideline.

Dream League baseball participants and buddies also register via Team Sideline.

Birth certificates are required for all participants and must be submitted at the time of registration.

Walk-in registration occurs during advertised registration dates at the Joyner Park Community Center (701 Harris Rd.) during normal business hours (Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.) - online registration access will be available at all community centers.

Note: Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources reserves the right to alter schedules, fees, and instructors as necessary. Classes are subject to cancellation when established enrollment requirements are not met.

Youth Leagues

Basketball

PRCR offers Basketball leagues for boys and girls ages 5-17. 

Registration is offered throughout September of each year.

New participants must provide a copy of the birth certificate in order to be eligible for team placement (mail to WFPRCR, 301 S. Brooks St., Wake Forest, NC  27587).

Spring Baseball & Softball

PRCR offers Spring/Summer Leagues for players age 5-17.

Registration is held throughout the month of February of each year. New participants must provide a copy of the birth certificate in order to be eligible for team placement (mail to WFPRCR, 301 S. Brooks St., Wake Forest, NC  27587).

Baseball Bats: Baseball bats for leagues through age 12 must beet current USABat requirements (note that BBCOR bats and wood bats meet the USABat specifications).

Baseball bats for players 13 and over must meet current NCHSAA standards (BBCOR).

Flag Football

Wake Forest PRCR offers Youth Fall Flag Football for boys and girls ages 7-12.

Registration is offered throughout June of each year.

A birth certificate is required for new participants. The in-town registration fee is $60, and the out-of-town fee is $100.

Team practices begin in August and games are played through mid-October.

Girls Volleyball

PRCR partners with Triangle Volleyball Club to offer the Girls Volleyball League, which is open to girls ages 9-16

Registration is held annually throughout the month of April, with teams formed in mid-May.

Tennis

Leagues, lessons, and clinics are offered by the Wake Forest Area Tennis Association through a partnership agreement with the Wake Forest Parks & Recreation Department.
